The Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid uses a combination of its 6.0-liter V8 engine and two electric motors that charge a 300-volt nickel-metal hydride battery. The vehicle can run on either gasoline, electricity or a mixture of the two using an automatic system that monitors the vehicle's torque, and state of the battery to choose the most efficient source of power.

The battery is charged either directly by generating electricity through driving one or both electric motors using the gasoline engine (while the vehicle is coasting or being driven by the gasoline engine), or by the wheels driving one or both electric motors through what is called "Regenerative braking" when the vehicle is decelerating, thus regaining a small amount of the energy invested in forward momentum. The Tahoe is considered a strong hybrid, in that it can run entirely on the battery (for a limited range) at low speeds. In city driving, the EPA rating of fuel consumption for the 2WD version of the hybrid is 21 mpg. In comparison, non-hybrid varieties of the Tahoe are rated no higher than 15 mpg in city driving.
It’s approaching to a de-restricted motorway next to you. The most recent RS Audi coupe, entire with a 450PS V8 and new-for-RS-models, 7-speed twin-clutch transmission, will be released at Geneva.
Audi established the innovative quattro at the 1980 Geneva motor show. In 2010, not just will the Ingolstadt Company have its luxury city car A1, but it will also prove the fastest A5 option yet. The RS 5 is powered by a hand-built 4.2-litre V8 FSI engine re-engineered (with technology from Audi’s range-topping V10) to achieve 8250rpm, at which dizzy heights maximum power of 450PS is available. Torque of 430Nm is delivered between 4000rpm and 6000rpm.
This results in the 1725kg car sprinting from 0-62mph in a time of 4.6 seconds and then on to an electronically governed 155mph top speed. The new dual-clutch transmission is lightning fast and comes equipped with a launch control function. quattro permanent all-wheel drive has been evolved yet further with a ‘next generation’ centre diff known as a ‘crown-gear differential’. Electronics governing the entire system can apportion drive where appropriate. So, from a standard 40 per cent front, 60 percent rear, as much as 85 percent can be directed to the rear tyres, depending on driving conditions.
Visually, the latest RS 5 is typically ‘RS Audi’; blazed wheel arches, and xenon plus headlights with LED strip daylight running lights sitting over oversized air inlets. At the rear, two oval exhaust pipes are mixed in the bumper, with a large horizontal diffuser in contrasting finish echoing the similar aerodynamic attribute underneath the front grille. A tailgate spoiler automatically extends at a speed of 75mph and retracts at 50mph.
The classy interior will be recognizable to Audi enthusiasts worldwide, and consumers will have the choice of stating either more sporting bucket seats or climate-controlled comfort seats at extra price. All seat choices crease to allow access for rear passengers.
UK consumers will be capable to order the RS 5 in the spring at a price in the region of £58,500. Releases will start in October.
